About Maile Shigemasa
As an avid runner, Maile Shigemasa (she/her) seized the opportunity to move to one of the nation’s top running cities to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Maile received her B.S. in Exercise Science from Creighton University where she ran 4 years of Division I cross country and track and field. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Maile joins the Orthology team after receiving her DPT from Columbia University with a focus on adult orthopedics. While at Columbia, she was involved in Columbia RunLab, student teaching, and the student leadership board. Additionally, Maile attended various courses specializing in Sports Rehabilitation, Telehealth, and Pelvic Health. In her current practice, Maile believes in a holistic, individualized, and evidence-based approach to physical therapy. She aims to work collaboratively with her patients to help reach their goals and return to their desired level of function.
Outside of work, Maile enjoys outdoor activities, reading, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
