About Cristina Franco-Leek

Cristina Leek has been practicing in the orthopedic/sports medicine field as a Physical Therapist after receiving her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College in 1999. In addition to her Masters degree, Cristina is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Tennis Performance Specialist through the International Tennis Performance Association. The tennis specific designation highlights that Cristina has knowledge, skills, and abilities in 20 different competencies focused on increasing performance and reducing injuries in tennis players.

With the combination of her Masters degree and two certifications, Cristina has the skills to not only treat her patients’ injuries, but also to incorporate strength and conditioning principles to decrease their risk of future injuries. Other certifications Cristina holds are the use of kinesiotape, pods, and rockfloss through Rocktape.

In addition to working at Orthology, Cristina is currently an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University, where she teaches in the Department of Health Professions Athletic Training Education Program. She has been in this role since 2014, and her courses include Principles of Therapeutic exercises, the Clinical Application of Therapeutic Interventions, and Anatomy and Physiology 1.
