Virtual Care
Virtual care is now available!
Adjusting to the “new normal” of life at home shouldn’t stand in the way of moving more and living better. Telehealth visits are virtual sessions with your provider done through a video platform. These sessions may address patient’s questions and concerns regarding their condition and provide education on how to best manage recovery at home, just like a traditional in person visit. The provider and patient will discuss the patient’s current condition, assess the patient’s movement patterns and quality, review current exercises, then provide additional demonstration of self manual techniques and therapeutic exercises and activities.
Here’s how it works:
Frequently Asked Questions
Call our Patient Relationship Coordinator team to learn about appointment availability and to schedule your appointment
Your Orthology care team uses a safe and secure, HIPAA-compliant, enterprise-level version of Microsoft Teams to provide telehealth. Here’s what you should know about using Microsoft Teams for your appointment:
- You will need an internet connection and an internet connected device (either a computer, tablet or smartphone) at the time of your appointment.
- You do not need a Microsoft account to access the meeting link, and can use a smartphone, computer, or tablet. The appointment can be accessed through your preferred internet browser where you can join as a Guest.
- When it’s time for your appointment, click on the ‘Click here to join the meeting’ link in your invitation to join the video call.
During your scheduled appointment, you’ll be able to talk face-to-face through the chat screen with a provider in real-time to conduct an initial evaluation to begin a plan of care, to continue a plan of care, make corrections to your home exercises, get advice through any status changes, and other types of evaluation, care or follow-up you would typically receive in an in-clinic appointment.
Most insurances do cover virtual care appointments. You can expect your virtual care appointment to cost about the same amount as an in-clinic appointment. As always, your out-of-pocket cost depends on your insurance plan. Contact your insurance to inquire about your benefits, or an Orthology location to find out.
- Depending upon your coverage and whether or not you have met your annual deductible, you may receive a bill for your virtual care once your insurance carrier processes your claim.
- If you don’t have insurance, we offer virtual care services at a cash rate.
