About Lee Scantalides

Lee Scantalides combines his experience as a martial artist along with his education as a movement specialist to successfully create and implement rehabilitation programs for his patients. He utilizes manual therapeutic techniques and neuromuscular re-education, in conjunction with individualized strength training, to restore patients’ wellness, allowing them to return to sporting activities, duties at work, and overall well-being. After undergraduate studies, Lee began personal training at Equinox Fitness Clubs where he completed all levels of their rigorous and exclusive education program from the Equinox Fitness Training Institute (EFTI), achieving Tier 3 Elite Plus status. He has taught and continues to teach educational programs on musculoskeletal pathologies and safe stretching protocols to both novice and experienced trainers at Equinox Fitness Clubs and New York Sports Club. Lee successfully completed his StrongFirst (SFG) Kettlebell instructor certification and continues to implement these principles into his practice with patients and clients. He co-developed/taught a patient-focused kettlebell class at NYSportsMed in 2015. Continuing his 30 year martial arts study, Lee has been training in Muay Thai kickboxing and was recently promoted to the Elite level sparring. He has earned his 4th Dan (degree) black belt in Taekwondo, ranking him as a Master. In addition he has trained in Uechi-Ryu Karate and Small Circle Japanese Ju-Jitsu. Lee is continuing his manual therapy education through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). He is also a teaching assistant at Touro College for their DPT program.
