4 Time-Saving Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Fitness Routine

Time is money and you want to get the most out of your fitness routine with the least amount of time. For those of us who are time poor but care about our fitness, here’s 4 time-saving tips for making the most of your fitness routine.

Have A Game Plan

Before heading to the gym, have a game plan in place so you’re not wasting time trying to figure out what to do next. By having a game plan, you’ll know what days and times you’ll go to the gym or workout at home. Figuring out the days and times you’ll go to the gym will also help make getting fit a habit.

Consistency is the key to maintaining a regular fitness routine. Stick with this routine and make it a priority. Just like working a job, don’t forget to pencil time for your workout into your daily schedule.

Setting goals is also a part of the game plan. Be smart with your  goals, making sure that they’re realistic. Once you’ve set your goals, break them into smaller goals that are easily achievable. Start working on reaching the smaller goals, while keeping your larger goals in mind.

Track Your Progress

This is where having clearly defined goals will come into play. Use a fitness journal to track your workouts, measurements and weight. When tracking your daily workouts, log the number of reps and sets you’ve completed, as well as the how much weight you were able to lift.

By doing this, you’ll keep track of where you started and how far you’ve come. This also helps prevent roadblocks that may hinder your results. Use this data to help you create a new plan as needed.

Try Something New

Sometimes doing the same thing everyday may make you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, so venture out and try something new. By changing your routine, you’ll learn new skills and find other exercises you’d never thought of trying before.

While consistency is important, it’s also important not to become bored with your routine, which can easily lead to de-motivation and sloppiness in terms of technique. By exploring new activities, it keeps things enjoyable and gets you moving.

Give HIIT A Try

HIIT (high-intensity interval training) is an effective way to get an intense workout in the shortest amount of time. It uses short bursts of intense workouts followed by shorter, less intense active recovery workouts.

HIIT is effective for losing weight, building muscle and boosting your metabolism. It’s more effective than traditional workouts because you’ll continue burning calories for up to two hours after the workout has ended. And there’s no need for equipment, as HITT exercises generally use your body weight as resistance.

So, now that you know how to get the most out of your fitness routine, let’s get started.
